Custom message labels, known as tags, make working with electronic mailboxes faster and easier. Messages are colour-coded for quick identification, making the message list clearer and easier to navigate.
What Are Labels?
Labels are colour-coded markers containing descriptive text that you can customise to assign a status or attribute to a message in your electronic mailbox (for example, an internal label indicating that a message is currently being processed).
The label text can contain any characters, including letters, numbers, special characters and symbols, to help you manage messages more efficiently. For example, labels can indicate a message’s status, type, priority, or the person to whom it has been assigned.
Predefined Labels
Predefined labels are also available in the mailbox to identify general message types, such as Submission, Delivery Receipt, Technical Message and Payment Instruction.
These labels cannot be deleted or renamed, but their colours can be changed. Since they are assigned automatically, they cannot be manually applied to individual messages.
If you need to mark a message as, for example, “technical”, create your own label with the appropriate description.
How to Create a Custom Label
You can manage labels in the Settings – Label Management section (Figure 1). Labels can be added, edited and deleted.
You can also create a label directly from the message list by clicking Labels – New Label (Figure 2), or navigate directly to Settings.

How to Assign a Label
A custom label can be assigned either in the message list or directly in the message details. In the message list, select the message or messages you want to label and click Labels. Select one or more labels (the selected labels will be applied to all selected messages) and click Confirm Changes. Follow the same procedure in the message details.
Searching by Labels
In the electronic mailbox message list, advanced search by label is also available in the “Search Messages” field using the Labels filter.
