Your electronic mailbox includes a feature that allows you to forward messages to an email address. However, a message can only be forwarded to email if you have opened it and read its contents, and provided that the message does not exceed 14 MB in size.
In practice, this means that you must first acknowledge receipt of the “delivery notification” (if a public authority is delivering a decision to you for personal delivery) and then forward the message that has been made accessible to your email address. If the electronic message is delivered through ordinary delivery, i.e. not under the personal-delivery regime, you only need to open and forward the message.
The email address to which you forward messages must never be considered a substitute for your electronic mailbox. The purpose of the feature for forwarding messages from your electronic mailbox to email is solely to transfer the message content (without electronic signatures) in an easily viewable format. Messages forwarded in this way are for informational purposes only and therefore cannot be used for legal purposes.
In the folder containing delivered messages that have been opened and read, select the message, choose the “Forward” function from the top menu, and enter the email address in the window that opens.
Carefully check that the email address is correct to avoid sending sensitive information contained in the message to the wrong recipient.
