A fraudulent campaign uses a website that mimics the appearance and elements of the official Slovensko.sk portal. Visitors are then prompted to pay alleged fines or fees via fake payment gateways. This is a fraudulent scheme with no connection to the National Agency for Network and Electronic Services or the services provided through the Slovensko.sk portal.
At the same time, the perpetrators continuously modify and alter the appearance of the fraudulent websites to make them look trustworthy and make detection more difficult. For this reason, individual versions of the fraudulent websites may vary, and the published examples may not capture all their current forms.
The National Agency for Network and Electronic Services points out that all official state electronic services are available exclusively through trusted channels, and citizens should pay close attention to the address of the website they are visiting.
"Cyber attackers are attempting to exploit public trust in the state's electronic services. We advise citizens to always verify that they are communicating with the official slovensko.sk website and never to enter their personal or payment details on suspicious websites," says Jana Molnarová, Director General of NASES.
At the same time, the agency recommends:
- that citizens check the address of the website they are visiting,
- that citizens do not enter personal, login, or payment details on unverified websites,
- that citizens do not make payments via suspicious payment gateways,
- that citizens verify information through official communication channels in case of doubt.
If citizens entered their details or made a payment on the fraudulent website, NASES recommends immediately contacting their bank and reporting the incident to law enforcement authorities.
NASES is monitoring the situation and, in cooperation with the relevant entities, is taking measures to minimize the impact of this fraudulent campaign.
