These applications are designed for creating and processing qualified electronic signatures (QES), previously known under Act No. 215/2002 Coll. on Electronic Signatures as guaranteed electronic signatures (GES). They are used to authenticate electronic submissions and electronic official documents in accordance with Act No. 305/2013 Coll. on e-Government, Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 July 2014 on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93/EC, and Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 April 2024 amending Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 as regards establishing the European Digital Identity Framework.
The applications intended for creating QES comply with the relevant security, functional and content requirements for electronic signature creation applications set out in ETSI TS 119 101, Act No. 272/2016 Coll. on Trust Services, and the relevant standards of the National Security Authority of the Slovak Republic (NBÚ SR) concerning qualified electronic signatures. The supplier declares compliance with the requirements of ETSI TS 119 101.
D.Suite/eIDAS Client Application Package for QES
D.Launcher v2.x– together with the new version of the D.Bridge JS libraries, v1.5, and the corresponding D.Bridge 2 web browser extension, it is used to launch and secure communication between the browser webpage and the QES components integrated into information system portal solutions. It also enables the automatic installation and updating of QES components on the Java platform, the required Java Runtime Environment (JRE), as well as its own automatic updates. By using more modern technologies, it addresses several technical issues encountered with D.Launcher v1.
D.Signer Suite – includes:
D.Signer– an application designed to create qualified electronic signatures in the XAdES format, primarily used to authorise forms and their attachments intended for communication with the public administration of the Slovak Republic.
D.Sig XAdES Extender– a component designed to create advanced data structures containing qualified electronic signatures, ranging from composite signatures to electronic submission structures.
ASiC Factory– a component designed to support the creation and processing of ASiC containers in the baseline profile, which is used to combine electronic signature structures with signed data objects.
D.Viewer– an application used to view data structures for electronic data exchange, particularly electronic submissions, forms and their attachments intended for communication with the public administration of the Slovak Republic.
D.Updater– an application used to automatically check for available updates (i.e. newer versions) of the D.Suite/eIDAS package components for qualified electronic signatures on the .NET platform and to install them.
Client applications for qualified electronic signatures(D.Signer, D.Viewer, D.Sig XAdES Extender and ASiC Factory) are available for the MS Windows operating systems(.NET and Java), GNU/Linux(Java only) and macOS(Java only).
The D.Launcher v2 applicationis also available for all the operating systems listed above.
Mobile operating systems (smartphones and tablets), such as Android and iOS, are currently supported in combination with the Disig Web Signer Mobile application, but only when used together with the desktop D.Signer application (.NET or Java), from which the signing process must be initiated. Client applications that allow documents to be signed directly on mobile devices without initiating the signing process from a desktop application are planned for the future, provisionally during 2026.
The installation of client applications or plug-ins is required because, at present, no solution for signing documents with a qualified electronic signature is available for all mandatory supported web browsers that would function entirely within the browser without requiring the installation of an additional plug-in, extension or client application.
When creating a QES, the D.Signer application uses a Qualified Signature Creation Device (QSCD), such as an identity card with an electronic chip (eID card), a Starcos chip card, or a similar device. A list of certified QSCDs is available on the European Commission’s websiteOpens in a new window.
Various applications from different vendors can be used to create qualified electronic signatures. However, to create a qualified electronic signature on the www.slovensko.sk portal and certain other public administration portals, the applications listed above may be required because they are integrated into the portals’ websites.
All electronic forms can be viewed directly in the electronic mailbox.
The electronic mailbox also provides features such as informational signature verification, saving forms in PDF format, printing, and more.
Since May 2025, the supplementary D.Viewer application has also provided informational signature verification, printing, and the ability to display XML data completed using any electronic form published in the Electronic Forms Module (MEF), as well as selected historical forms stored outside this module. Please note, however, that these D.Viewer features are services provided by the supplier, operated on the supplier’s infrastructure at its own expense. NASES is not responsible for the proper functioning of these services.
If you need to display a frequently used electronic form in D.Viewer that is not registered in MEF, you can still use the contact form to suggest that it be added to the D.Viewer repository. You must provide the electronic form’s identifier, version, name and format. This information can be found in the visualizations.xmlfile in the externalCode, nameand visualTransformTypeattributes. The National Agency for Network and Electronic Services (NASES) will then assess the proposal and determine whether it can provide the visualisation, taking its capacity into account.
(Historical forms were added to the D.Viewer repository following a request from the relevant public authority, which had to provide the electronic form’s identifier, version, name and format. This information was stored in the visualizations.xmlfile in the externalCode, nameand visualTransformTypeattributes.)
