How to obtain a mandate certificate

A Qualified Electronic Signature with a mandate certificate is used for signing official decisions. It is issued to a natural person who is authorised by law or on the basis of law to act on behalf of another person or a public authority, or in their name, or to a natural person who performs activities or holds a position pursuant to specific legislation (§ 8 of Act No. 272/2016 Coll. on Trust Services).

We would also like to draw the attention of public authorities to the new remote method of issuing mandate certificates. This new option for submitting an application, enabled by an efficient solution, eliminates the need for travel and personal visits to a service centre.

Ako to funguje?

  1. Through the e-form on Slovensko.sk, complete the application for the issuance of a mandate certificateOpens in a new window.
  2. In the “Required Information” section, select “remote” as the method of issuance.
  3. Indicate that you are interested in a MONET+ ProID+Q chip card (if you do not already have one), as these certificates can only be issued on this type of card.
  4. Upload a document proving the mandate as an attachment (appointment decree / certificate / employment contract / etc.) – see the instructions on how to upload the documentOpens in a new window.
  5. Sign the application electronically using the organisation's electronic seal, a mandate certificate, or the statutory representative's electronic ID card, and submit it.
  6. In the meantime, the person for whom the certificate has been requested in this way registers on the self-service portalOpens in a new window using their electronic ID card.

We will check the application and approve the registration process. The required data will be generated on the chip card, which will then be sent to the correspondence address you provided, together with an accompanying letter containing instructions on what needs to be done after receiving the card.

  1. Follow the instructions provided in the accompanying letter to complete the certificate uploadOpens in a new window.
  2. You will find the security codes (PIN/PUK) in your electronic mailbox.
  3. Download the MONET chip card softwareOpens in a new window if you do not already have it, and you can start signing.
