OOTS documents provided by the Slovak Republic are translated using standard localisation procedures and XLIFF localisation files. This works in a similar way to multilingual websites, which can display the same page in different languages.
The creation and management of localisation data is one of the activities carried out by expert working groups from the Member States, formally coordinated by the European Commission. Slovakia uses this data to localise documents into other languages.
For example, if an EU country provides verified translations for the language database, the Slovak OOTS team prepares the localisation files and generates several sample documents, which are sent to that country for quality assurance. Once the Member State approves them, OOTS documents can also be generated in the approved language for citizens.
Although adding new languages for individual document types takes time, this process helps ensure consistent quality across all generated translations.
